Factoid: aka Spartium Fabaceae Flower is a multi-stemmed, sparsely-leaved, deciduous shrub that is typically found in dry areas, open woodlands, disturbed sites and along roads in the Mediterranean area, and is primarily grown and known for its bright yellow flowers and cylindrical green stems. It’s become invasive in California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. Flowers are bright yellow, pea-shaped and fragrant and bloom July to frost. Flowers are followed by somewhat leafless flat seed pods, quite sparse in number.
