One of my favorite “just passing through” towns, Cirauqui is a small hilltop town (a typical medieval layout throughout Europe) that spreads around the Iglesia de San Román, a Gothic church that looks like a fortress. Thankfully the Camino was well marked, otherwise it would have been a maze for those who don’t know their way around. Its streets are intriguing – angular, cobbled, narrow and steep.
With a population of just under 500, its residents enjoy a spectacular 360-degree vista each and every day!
