A Striking First Glacier Sighting

At 8am, our first Juneau premier attraction began – the “Whale Watching and Wildlife Quest”.  While in search of sea lions, seals and anxiously awaiting up-close-and-personal spouting blowholes, we were surrounded by never-ending mountain ranges as well as this glacier.  The boat pilot and crew members stated they were just as surprised as we in that, even for the locals, the recent string of wonderfully clear, sunny days – where the tops of the mountain ranges were not covered in a cloudy fog – was something magical, and so very uncommon, so unlikely, so out of the ordinary, so few and far between…   Juneau-9532_900 Juneau-9533-34_900 Juneau-9539_900
