Prelude: Aerials from AZ to AK

Whenever flying, I always opt for the window seat (preferably not over the wing) if for no other reason than to watch for fabulous earth scenes below while listening to a favorite playlist.  The weather cooperated, I was on the “good” side of the plane, and look what I found!!

Admittedly, I do have additional shots while heading x-county, but because this is such a small piece of the trip, I kept aerials down to a dull roar: A layover in Phoenix allowed time for an overall view of this desert city (I love seeing mountains in the deserts); cool clouds with a rain shower over  Lassen  Volcanic National Park; fire on the mountains south of Mt. Shasta (which, by the way, towers above the town of Weed, CA, site of a recent, nasty fire); Mt. Hood, just outside of Portland, OR; snow-capped Mt. St. Helens (post 1980 eruption); and the final approach to Vancouver, British Columbia.
