Forbidden Planet

Seriously, Forbidden Planet, 1956 sci-fi movie, in color no less, starring a serious Leslie Nielsen (way before his meteoric rise to comedic fame), Anne Francis (of “Honey West” TV fame; anyone remember that?), and Walter Pidgeon. Forbidden Planet is considered one of the great science fiction films of the 1950s, a precursor of what was to come for the science fiction film genre in the decades that followed.

Sorry, I rant…  Anyway, I was working on my recent barred owl photographs when this movie came on; had to pause & rewind to get this shot.  Don’t you love the idea of life on another planet?  I do.  The bonus was this landscape; how I love landscapes, and isn’t this superb (at least for a image taken while the movie was paused)??  Take your pick of weather changes:

Thawing planet under blue skies

The other bonus was I learned how to create a video out of one single image – beginner, I know it’s not great, and will learn to fine-tune this craft over time, but what fun!!  Enjoy this colorful and ever-changing planet!!
