This is it! This is Orisson, France. Because the distance from St Jean to Roncesvalles is the longest and most difficult, many choose to break up their hikes by staying at the Refuge Orisson.
A few pointers re: these images: 1) El Camino de Santiago, aka the Way of Saint James among other names, is the main path serving pilgrimage to the shrine of the apostle St James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. A spiritual journey or not, “it’s your Camino; so make it yours”. 2) Water fountains dot the entire trail, not only in each village, but also in the middle of nowhere. Most are “potable” – the water is good, so fill the water bottles and keep walking. Other are noted with a red “X”, “no potable”, a skull & crossbones (you’ll see). 3) An albergue (pronounced al-BEAR-gay) = a hostel = a dorm-like establishment providing inexpensive food & lodging for workers, student, and… pilgrims!
