A cat stood guard on our way to the piazza in the town of Larrasoana, Spain. We were among several pilgrims who, during this mid-morning break, were ready to unload our packs, rest, eat, fill up water bottles, use the facilities in the municipal building, and capture more photos.
The cat had no concern for the commotion all around, but evidently had a telepathic connection to his fellow felines, because two more came running from separate hideaways down the street and into our group, no doubt used to receiving bits of bread, cheese or whatever anyone was willing to share.
