Descent from Lepoeder Pass

El Camino de Compostela trails are maintained by volunteers all across Northern Spain; to become a volunteer, however, pilgrims must have completed the entire 800km trek from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago. Hiking through the thick fog, we were grateful for the well-kept bright yellow arrows and blue scallop shell markers!

Again, more forest scenes.  The decent was not only very steep all the way from the Lepoeder Pass summit (red and black exclamation point warnings on our trail maps!) to our next overnight destination, Roncesvalles, but there were additional drastic drops on each side of the muddy trail…
