Bridge of the Queen

THE Puente de la Reina.

Crossing the bridge is a requirement for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela. It was Queen Muniadona who gave her name to the town and the bridge. The six-arched 11th century Romanesque bridge was built over the Rio Arga for the use of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela along the Camino de Santiago. Population 2,500.
