At First Glance…

… the shape along the edge of this roof looked a lot like the “mantle” part of a giant sea clam.

The spreading foliage that appear to be cacti are actually a type of leek, the Sempervivum plant, settling in on the red-tiled roof of the house.  Some have actually flowered already.
